NEGOMBO – CHILAW - ANURADHAPURA – SIGIRIYA – DAMBULLA – DROP OFF
After breakfast we will start climbing up Sigiriya
-Sigiriya Excursion.
This world heritage site, a spectacular rock fortress, is one of Sri Lanka’s major attractions. The most
impressive facets of the unique complex are the water gardens, the frescoes of beautiful maidens, and
the mirror wall with the ancient graffiti, the lion platform and the summit of 1.6 hectares, which was
completely covered by buildings during the period of Sigiriya’s glory.

After Sigiriya climb we will be visiting a village kitchen using a bullock cart and crossing a lake on a
catamaran to taste the local authentic food which will be cooked in front of you with the traditional
cooking methods which was used by the Sri Lankans.
-Optional Visit to a silk and a batik factory outlet in Sigiriya village.
We will be driving to Dambulla caves passing the most famous and the largest vegetable
and fruit wholesale market in Sri Lanka.
Visit the Caves of Dambulla which were originally used as a refuge for King Valagambahu
who was seeking exile and was protected by the Buddhist monks of Dambulla. Later, once
he regained his throne in Anuradhapura, the king converted the caves into a magnificent
temple complex. The colourful frescos which cover the ceiling of the caves date back over
2,000 years. The Dambulla cave temple houses the largest number of statues of the Lord
Buddha found in a single location.
After exploring the caves of Dambulla we will be driving you back to Bandaranaike international airport
for your departure flight or to any preferred hotel or drop off location.
