DAY 01 : Anuradhapura

Arrival and transfer to Hotel in Anuradhapura. 

Our representative will meet you at the airport and begin your journey to the North province of Sri Lanka. On the way we will be visiting a Murugan Kovil which is mostly popular among Hindus. Then we will be driving pass by the salt factory areas in the Puttalam area. After passing the slatterns we will be driving straight to the ancient city of Anuradhapura which was the first and the longest capital of Sri Lanka in the past.

On arrival to Anuradhapura city you can decide whether you want to explore the eight sacred places in Anuradhapura which is called Atamasthana in Sinhala. Anuradhapura ancient city is enrich with archeological and architectural wonders such as Dagobas, renovated stupas, Monasteries and temples, Statues of Gauthama Buddha built during Anuradhapura’s thousand years of rule over Sri Lanka.

DAY 02 : Habarana

After breakfast we will be driving to Sigiriya.

-Sigiriya Excursion.

This world heritage site, a spectacular rock fortress, is one of Sri Lanka’s major attractions. The most impressive facets of the unique complex are the water gardens, the frescoes of beautiful maidens, and the mirror wall with the ancient graffiti, the lion platform and the summit of 1.6 hectares, which was completely covered by buildings during the period of sigiriya’s glory.

Traditional Village tour with the lunch and cooking demonstration. (Optional)

After Sigiriya climb we will be visiting a village kitchen using a bullock cart and crossing a lake on a catamaran to taste the local authentic food which will be cooked in front of you with the traditional cooking methods which was used by the Sri Lankans.

-Visit to silk and batik factory outlet.

-In the evening we will be having a jeep safari at the Minneriya or Kaudulla National park which is famous only for the Sri Lankan wild Elephants.

DAY 03 : Kandy

-After breakfast proceed to Kandy.

-Visit to Dambulla cave Temple;

The Caves of Dambulla were originally used as a refuge for King Valagambahu who was seeking exile and was protected by the Buddhist monks of Dambulla. Later, once he regained his throne in Anuradhapura, the king converted the caves into a magnificent temple complex. The colorful frescos which cover the ceiling of the caves date back over 2,000 years. The Dambulla cave temple houses the largest number of statues of the Lord Buddha found in a single location.

-Visit to the Ceylon Spices and Herbal garden where you will witness all the uses of Ayurveda herbal medicine and production of the Sri Lankan spices.

City tour of Kandy and shopping;

-Visit to the Ceylon sapphires store and museum.

-Visit to the Wood carving Factory and outlet.

This scenic, ancient and historic capital city is not only one of the world’s holiest places of Buddhist worship, but also one of Sri Lanka’s eight UNESCO World Heritage sites. A must-visit for any traveler to our renowned Hill Country, Kandy is redolent with colorful tradition while embracing everything that modernity and today’s switched-on traveler has come to expect.

-Visiting Temple of tooth Kandy. 

-Evening visit to the Cultural Dancing programme.

DAY 04 : Nuwara Eliya

-After breakfast proceed to Nuwara Eliya.

Nuwara Eliya delightful and historic Hill Country town is known as ‘Little England’, because it was here that the colonial British administrators made their summer retreats in the image of their home country. Nuwara Eliya literally means ‘City of Light’, and is now a favorite with domestic holidaymakers enjoying the colonial hotels, golf, and unique mix of past and present.

-Optional visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya.

147 acres in extent, created around 1750 and the garden includes more than 4000 species of plants, including orchids, medicinal plants and palm trees etc...

-On the way we will be visiting a Tea factory and a Tea plantation to witness the process of turning the raw green leaf into the familiar black/brown finished product.

Stay overnight in Nuwara Eliya.

DAY 05 : Udawalawa

-On the way to Nanu oya railway station we will be visiting the Seetha Amman Temple in Seetha Eliya.

-Later take the train to Ella from Nanu oya which is one of Sri Lanka’s most beautiful rail journeys. Our chauffeur will drop you from Nanu oya Railway station and pick you up from Ella station to transfer you the hotel in Udawalawe.

Proceed to Udawalawa stopping en route to see the Rawana Ella waterfall which is closely linked to the Indian epic Ramayana. Also stop at Buduruwagala to see the famous rock sculptures.

In the afternoon visit the elephant transit home is an admirable initiative which was founded by the born free trust in UK. Here, baby elephants who are orphaned or injured in the wild are brought in to receive care and rehabilitation. Once the elephants are healthy and old enough, they are radio collared and released into the park where their progress is tracked. The first elephants to be rehabilitated at the ETH have already started reproducing successfully in the wild... a truly sustainable initiative.

DAY 06 : Galle

-After breakfast proceed to Bentota.
Love is in the air at Bentota, perhaps our finest beach resort and favorite honeymoon and wedding destination for Sri Lankans and foreign visitors .As well as its golden beaches, the resort’s calm seas during the peak holiday season are perfect for sailing, snorkeling, diving, water-skiing, wind surfing and sea fishing on traditional outrigger canoes.

-Visit to Galle fort.

-Visit to a Turtle conservation project.

-Madu river boat safari with fish foot massage.

-Optional Water sports activities in Bentota area.

Stay overnight in Bentota.

DAY 07 : Departure

You will be transferred to the airport in Colombo according to your flight departure time.
