A representative from KAD Tours will welcome you at the airport. -Visiting Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage which is an orphanage, nursery and captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants located at Pinnawala village. Pinnawala has the largest herd of captive elephants in the world. In 2011, there were 96 elephants, including 43 males and 68females from 3 generations, living in Pinnawala. The orphanage was founded to care and protect the many orphaned unweaned wild elephants found wandering in and near the forests of Sri Lanka. It was established in 1975 by the Sri Lanka Department of Wildlife Conservation -The second place to visit on this day will be the Ceylon Spices and Herbal garden where you will witness all the uses of Ayurveda herbal medicine and production of the Sri Lankan spices. -City tour of Kandy; -Visit to the Gem Factory. -Visit to the Wood carving Factory. -Visit to Silk and Batik Factory. -Visit to the sacred Tooth temple of Kandy. Ever since 4th century AD when the Buddha’s Tooth was brought to Sri Lanka hidden from sacrilegious hands in an Orissan Princess’ hair, the Relic has grown in repute and holiness in Sri Lanka and throughout the Buddhist world. It is considered Sri Lanka’s most prized possession and evening witness the Kandy Cultural Dance Performance. -Overnight stay at Kandy.
-Optional visit to the botanical gardens of Peradeniya in the morning.
While having our breakfast we will indulge ourselves in thoughts of Nuwara Eliya’s cold and misty environment where you will encounter the plantations and factories where the world famous Ceylon tea is processed. Some of this tea is still processed using machinery built by the British Empire during their stay in Sri Lanka and witnessing this can be pleasant. On our journey to Nuwara Eliya we ascend through tea plantations, curvy roads, and misty mountain sides and come across various waterfalls. Nuwara Eliya which is also called as little England due to its diverse landscape and climate. Spending our night in a rather different atmosphere where it’s cold and misty, giving a sense of European feel rather than the usual Sri Lankan warm climate.

Nuwara Eliya - Ella In the morning you take a train trip from Nuwara Eliya to Ella, approximately 3 hours. During the ride, enjoy the beauty of Sri Lanka while passing through the middle of the tea plantations and vegetable gardens.
Visit Little Adam's Peak and Nine arch bridge in Ella; it offers splendid views and a not-too-hard trek.
Stay overnight in Ella.
Leave after breakfast to Udawalawa stopping en route to see the Rawana Ella waterfall which is closely linked to the Indian epic Ramayana. Also stop at Buduruwagala to see the famous rock sculptures.
In the afternoon visit the elephant transit home is an admirable initiative which was founded by the born free trust in UK. Here, baby elephants who are orphaned or injured in the wild are brought in to receive care and rehabilitation. Once the elephants are healthy and old enough, they are radio collared and released into the park where their progress is tracked. The first elephants to be rehabilitated at the ETH have already started reproducing successfully in the wild... a truly sustainable initiative.
We will be taking the evening safari of Udawalawa national park possibly the best park in the island for elephants.

After breakfast we will proceed to Matara and Galle, Galle is the best example of a fortified city built by Europeans in south and Southeast Asia, showing the interaction between European architectural styles and south Asian traditions. The Galle fort is a world heritage site and the largest remaining fortress in Asia built by European occupiers. Walk along the quaint cobblestoned streets and along the impressive ramparts which once fortified this city.
Visiting a Marine Turtle hatchery - a valuable conservation project that protects the endangered Marine Turtles of Sri Lanka. Globally, all seven species of marine turtles existing are endangered. Out of these seven, five species of sea turtles come ashore to nest in Sri Lanka. The process of marine turtles nesting, hatchlings being born, and swimming back to sea is an ancient and phenomenal ritual that is fascinating to observe.
